01
A medium built around constraints
Before streaming video was abundant, motion comics offered a way to tell cinematic stories over slow connections, tiny files, and severe production constraints.
02
The work
As creator of Broken Saints and an early champion of the form, Brooke helped establish its visual grammar and demonstrate how small teams could create cinematic experiences without traditional animation budgets.
He worked as producer, director, writer, and consultant and advocated for the medium at events including San Diego Comic-Con, Sundance, MegaCon, ROMICS, and CBC Reads.
